We figured if we did the mix and match thing with the colors, we could add a new color instead of changeing an entire set of dishes as pieces get broken, lost or whatever. Over the years I can't tell you what my kids have done to our dishes. They use serving bowls as cereal bowls, take dishes outside and eat. Dig holes in the yard with the spoons. Not to mention how they have this built in ability to chip a dish or two a month. This is one reason we started our fiestaware collection. I like this size bowl for side dishes. The weight and quality speaks when you pick up a piece. I do really love the colors.

(More customer reviews)This "Sedona" style 2-quart vegetable/serving bowl by Pfaltzgraff is going to give you years of use with its fantastic dishwasher and microwave safe qualities. The manufacturer claims that it is also oven and freezer safe; but I can't comment on those aspects because I haven't used this bowl to store or cook things in the freezer or my oven.
The design of the bowl is very smart. The interior of the bowl is a warm cream color freckled with blue specks that are all hand painted. This design is nicely complemented by the predominantly warm, earthy tones of the different colored stripes, shapes and colors all around the outside of the bowl. The navy blue areas at the very top and bottom of the outside of the bowl also give the bowl a sharp, smart look. The overall effect certainly does give it that vibrant southwest feel; the design can also go with many contemporary and even modern dining room sets.
This soup or cereal bowl is completely hand painted; that impresses me. There is a five year warranty but with the strength of these bowls I doubt you'll ever need it! When I handle the bowl it feels remarkably sturdy and solid.

(More customer reviews)This is like the Napoli salad/pasta dish, only much larger and oval-shaped. Very pretty, fluted edges, Pfaltzgraff quality, a nice addition to the set. I love the Napoli design, but had already started collecting the Pistoulet, and found if you're careful in what pieces you choose they actually go really well together. I like it that the "sameness" is broken up that way, it's more interesting.

It is a perfect compliment to the other Pistoulet items, and works well for serving up vegetables or side dishes. This particular design is what made me fall in love with Pistoulet in the first place--the colors could not be more beautiful. This peice is not too heavy, which is a good thing in a serving dish that will be passed around the table.
