The difference is phenomenal. Rosle's products combine great ergonomic engineering with high-quality stainless construction, and the masher is no exception. Its design allows the cook to combine just the right amount of force more precisely, resulting in effortless and lump-free mashing (no more problems with cranky avocados), and it cleans up easily. I've had mine for over a month, and suspect it will be the last potato masher I'll ever buy -- unless, of course, I need an additional Rosle.
