(More customer reviews)I bought this product at BJ's for considerably less than the price listed here on Amazon. A few more spuds needed planting and our soil is so sorry so I decided to try this little raised bed to supplement the one I'd built with railroad ties.
After laying out the boards, I thought the 42" by 42" bed looked a lot smaller than I had imagined.
The four sides snap together into four supplied corner pieces. Being a klutz, I didn't have an easy time of it and ended up using a hammer which put a few dimples in the side material. It didn't take too long to fill the area with a mixture of potting soil and top soil bought at the local nursery.
I like that the unit is American made, looks good, and is made with composite lumber. Clips are included for those who want to combine two of these units. It would be less expensive to make a similarly sized bed out of garden ties. The only concern is the leaching of wood preservative from the ties into the garden soil.
Now all I can do is water and wait for those scrumptious spuds to bloom.
Update May 17 - The potatoes in this bed are coming up gang busters. It's crowded, but I also have a squash plant and a couple of bean plants thriving there too.
